The City of Zagreb Energy Policy is aimed at increasing security and diversification of the city's energy supply, reducing CO2 emissions in all sectors by implementing energy-efficient measures, using renewable energy sources and environmentally friendly fuels, applying new ICT and green technologies, rational energy management, and reducing energy consumption in the construction, transport, industry and public lighting sector as well as transforming urban quarters into environmentally sustainable areas. The City of Zagreb participates in a series of European projects that contribute to the efforts of the European Union in finding practical solutions to mitigate climate change, and which also aim at achieving energy saving targets, energy efficiency measures, renewable energy sources, clean fuel utilization, reduction CO2 emissions, exchange of experience and knowledge, education and raising awareness of all stakeholders.
